Training and Experience:

1959-1974 Attended school in Oldenburg, Cochem/Mosel, Memmingen, Bonn and Schelkingen.
1974-1976 Trained as an Aircraft Mechanic and attended the Officers School of the German Air Force.
1976-1980 Studied Air- and Space Technology at the University of the Armed Forces Munich,
Degree in Engineering, Diploma in Chemistry.
1980-1988 Pilot for single and multi-jet, high performance aircrafts
1988-1989 Trained as a Test Piot in Manching and at ETPS, Boscome Down (England), Test Pilot Class I.
1988-1990 Tested aviation equipment and compiled technical and aeronautical expertise thereof.
1990-1992 Training for the German-Russian Space Mission MIR '92.
March 17 - March 25, 1992 Flight to the Russian Space Station MIR onboard Soyuz TM-14.

Aircraft Types:

Jets: F-104G, Tornado, Alpha-Jet, F-16 and others
Transporters: Transall, Do 228, Do 28 and others
Helicopters: Bo 105, Gazelle, UH-1D and others as well as diverse small aircrafts, micro-lights and gliders, including Air-Air-Refueling of large and medium size aircrafts.

Scientific Activities:

Mass Spectroscopy, gas chromtography and application of chemical analytical devices.
Main interest: fluid dynamics, EDV
