Description
Forty-nine astronauts and cosmonauts from 14 nations gathered October 4-10, 2009 in Prague, Czech Republic for the XXII Planetary Congress of the Association of Space Explorers (ASE). The theme of the XXII Congress was “Space – Opportunities for All”, reflecting the Association’s belief that emerging international spaceflight capabilities and technologies all play an important role in contributing to the growing human presence in space. The XXII Planetary Congress was hosted by Czech cosmonaut Vladimir Remek.
This poster commemorates the XXII Congress and bears the authentic signatures of the participating astronauts and cosmonauts. This poster is part of a series of limited collector’s edition posters that have been produced and signed at each ASE Congress since the Association was founded in 1985. Sixty-four posters were signed at the XXII Congress.
The poster has two headings, the main heading in English at the top, with the Russian displayed at the bottom. Around the periphery are printed translations of “Association of Space Explorers” in the native languages of the Founding Members of the Association of Space Explorers.
